Pet Dental Care Services We Offer
During every visit, your veterinarian will examine your pet's teeth and gums for signs of dental disease. If we spot any dental issues, we recommend our Comprehensive Oral Health Assessments and Treatments (COHAT), also known as "dentals."
This process includes:
- General Anesthesia: General anesthesia with IV catheter and IV fluids during your pet’s dental exam and teeth cleaning, alongside careful anesthetic monitoring ensures their safety and comfort.
- Full-Mouth Radiographs: Radiographs allow us to perform a complete evaluation of your pet's dental health, including the areas that are hidden under the gum line.
- Detailed Examination: Your veterinarian will carefully assess each of your pet’s teeth, along with the surrounding gum tissue for signs of disease.
- Teeth Cleaning: We clean your pet’s teeth similar to how your dentist cleans yours, by scaling to remove dental plaque and tartar, then polishing the tooth enamel to remove abrasions and reduce future buildup of plaque material.
- Pain Management: If extractions are necessary, we use a multi-modal approach to manage pain, including local nerve blocks and pain relievers.
